These are sites where you can publish your own content, and either sell your content to this site or continue to share revenue from the page impressions that your articles get. In many you can do both.
The reviews given below are sometimes just the top Google result for a review of that site – you will of course need to do your own research before you join a site. Not only because I may be wrong (my lawyer advised me not to make claims of correctness), but more importantly, because this page might be out of date.
You can use Paypal with almost all of these. Some of them link to your Adsense etc accounts and that account credited directly.

My own experience is with Associated Content, where I published an article and got paid $2.14. It's almost next to nothing, and the prospects of that article getting page views are not too high either. I am still going to publish content, but with the knowledge that I may be wasting my time.
