Middle East Reforms a Marriage of Real-Politik and Architecture

 

As popular protests sweep across Middle East, the governments there are putting in place reforms to placate and control the protesters. Their latest step has been called a Masterpiece in Real-Politik and Architecture.

“With the help of Allah, and America, and our other Arab Allies, Inshallah, we will stop these popular, albeit unpopular protests”, the spokesman for the Interior Internal Ministry of Ultra-Internal Affairs of an unnamed Middle Eastern country said yesterday.

According to him, the biggest reform that is being implemented across the region is: No Big Public Squares. “Just look at Tahrir Square. These are just death traps for any repressive regime,” He rued. “I have already given orders to start construction in all such squares so that people just don’t have any place to make a show of strength. Hah, that will show those suckers.”

Observers have noted that the Sheiks and Presidents across the Middle East could have learnt their lesson in 1989; but they did not, because they completely missed the news of Tiananmen Square Protests. They were just too busy celebrating the death of Ayatollah Khomeini, the then ruler of Shia-ite Iran, who died on the same day.

As a special offer, you can make your first transaction by withdrawing your money using this method for free – which saves you the $1.99 fee.
